Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

American Pie....Don McLean

A stroll over a Pinkstermaandag market and 2 Euros changed hands to make me to owner of this album. In its time this was a big seller and managed to achieve classic album status....It has its title track and "Vincent" to recommend it but, the other tracks show what great and sensitive writer Don was despite being a difficult character at times.......... A recent trip to "Hi Fidelity" in Aachen yielded a whole new batch of albums for me to post....This is the first which I took home after an excellent couple of hours with the owner of the shop. We managed a great chat between us in English, Dutch and a bit of German. After the visit I did him a bit of PR on facebook for which he gave me an excellent discount on the package of LPs I bought from him.

The early Gabriel albums are all great albums .....this one which is often called  "melt" is no exception and contains some great music ...add to that a guest appearance from Ms Bush and you get a great album......

Whenever , I listen to Peter ...I remember with great fondness my time at Bath University in the UK.....One evening I was walking around the Uni land when I found myself in a private garden and eventually I encountered the occupant .....after some waving he told me that he wanted me to ..."Stop climbing up on HIS Solsbury Hill"....upon further trespass I began to recognise who I was talking to and that was how I came to spend around half an hour talking to Peter Gabriel........ It has been such a long time since I bought a full price CD but, I could nor resist this one.
Back in my youth  girl friend turned me onto to "How Come?" and "The Poacher" .I owed both on 45 and played them often and enjoyed them.....Sadly life left me and them separate .......However, now I am reunited with these tracks and many more gems from this wizard.......find this buy it and listen...you will be treated to some of the finest music ever recorded......pour yourself a glass of wine....put your cans one.....sit back relax and dream of an idilic life in the warm countryside! Smile

P.S....I wonder if anyone ever reads this thread????????/
