Through comparisons although sometimes the two things being compared do not match it becomes clearer what we do or do not like about the person or thing. I believe that is why comparisons are a popular way of talking about celebs.
I understand where you are coming from on what you have said. However, what i meant was that there seems to be some kind of publically ordered competition made between any two or more artists(obviously usually only two) who seem to share any iota of similarity. I do believe each person can and should be judged individually, based on how well they do what they do. i.e. how well they play the piano, dance etc.... not necessarily as compared to someone else. I do understand that most things are relative! Even so, i just think that sometimes it fuels an unnecessary "beef" if one partcipant should take it more seriously than the other.:blah::blah::blah:
