theres a good mix of soft rock, pop and ballads
album is autobiographical as he reminisces about his early years

a duet with Ringo:   Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr - Home to Us (Lyric Video)

yes, his voice is shot
there are some lovely melodies but overall its not an album for anyone but fans IMO
even then, i will play it another couple of times in the car, and again for my end of year rankings but probably never again after that
it is better five of his previous seven albums for me but still probably scores a 5.5/10

i cant criticise the guy too much because:
1: he wasa Beatle, 
2: he is the most successful songwriter of all time,
3: because of reasons 1 and 2 he has earned every right to do whatever he pleases
and 4: why not!?

as a footnote the album debuted on the UK charts at #1 this week and #5 here in Australia

best track for me is the opening track,
i like the spoken word verses and the chaotic ragged chorus lines and almost psychedelic guitar work

I too was pleasantly surprised. I think he may have had some voice help here, but he gets away with it. Not shabby at all - huh!
