^I'll have a listen to Archie CH.
Just had a thing recently - Eric Andersen has been running around in my head - not an earworm, per se, more like snippets. So I'm exorcising him, and the way to do that is to listen. The seventies it is, for me, in terms of musical era. All the stuff that stays with me seems to come from around those years!

lead off single:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

PAUL KELLY & THE MESSENGERS "so much water so close to home" cd 1989

ELVIS PRESLEY "way down: in the jungle room" cd 2016
a compilation 2cd set
features all the studio recordings made in 1976-77 in "the jungle room"
most of the tracks here are county covers or country crossover songs so it goes here
love almost every track on here even the alternate versions/demos on disk 2
amazing how good his voice actually still was right up till the time he died at 42 in 1977
album scores 2.6 from me which means
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
love this Andrew Lloyd Webber song written for Presley:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

MERLE HAGGARD "the very best of" cd.
a revisit...
double disk, 48 track career spanning compilation...
was sort of lukewarm on Haggard a decade ago but his genius as a singer/songwriter grows more and more on me with each passing year...
that doesnt mean i love this album yet but im not far off doing so as this disk scores a border love score of 2.3...
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
how could i not include this one too:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

ORVILLE PECK "pony" cd 2019
a revisit
from Sth Africa
debut of four, only one i own
experts call him country or cowboy-pop
his gimmick is covering his face with masks etc
has an almost dreamy Chris Isaak feel in places
music resembles the Twin Peaks style in others
still a really good album IMO scoring 2.4 which means
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

DOLLY, LINDA & EMMY-LOU "trio" cd 1987

a supergroup of sorts
their first of two, i own them both

some newly recorded, others repackaged for here
superb blending of voices here,
album scores 2.4 which means
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
lead off single:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

DOLLY, LINDA & EMMY-LOU "trio two" cd 1999
a deliberate revisit
enjoyed their first album so much i decided to revisit their second and final collaborative effort
what an absolute treat this was
i think the song selection was curated better than the previous album
im suspecting the previous album was a 'lets see is it works" album and this was 'planned to a tee"
just as good as the previous album scoring 2.4 which means
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
lead off single:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

ELVIS PRESLEY "elvis at sun" cd 2004
a revisit
a nineteen track pre-fame collection of country and rockabilly tunes
this is where it all started at Sam Phillips' Sun Studio's in Memphis
this is rough, raw, ragged Presley at his finest for me
great stuff scoring 2.7 which means
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
lets go for this one:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.
