LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM - Seeds We Sow ....released September 2011

His sixth solo adventure and what an adventure it is ! The super talented songwriter, vocalist and guitarist of Fleetwood Mac delivers a superb straight ahead rock album full of melodic songs. There are rock ballads and high energy rockers with powerful choruses sung by a great rock voice. Lindsey's guitar playing is remarkable acoustically and plugged in. He is certainly a very underrated guitarist. There really are no bad songs on this outing ! Buckingham even performs a Stones' cover. The album goes by quickly and is a complete joy to listen to. I recommend this album to anyone who likes a good rock performance with no gimmickry or frills. This studio release would have made a very entertaining live album. Apparently he recorded, performed and produced this album at home after leaving Warner Brothers records ! The sound is impeccable !

AllMusic rating .... 4/5

Firstly I have to say I'm a huge lindsey fan. I have all his previous studio albums, many live versions, unreleased demos, a live dvd, everything he ever did with fleetwood mac live, in studio and a heck of a lot of unreleased stuff. I've watched documentaries, interviews, video lessons with the guy. Heck I even demanded that a friend of mine recorded directly from the vinyl Buckingham Nicks cus I couldn't own the vinyl myself (I know I'm in desperate need of a life).
And yet I have to say this latest album was a major disappointment for me. To me it sounded strained, overly polished and commercial. It felt quite impersonal and the sort of thing ageing rockers gasp out as a final encore before they leave the stage. I think sadly Lindsey is too happy thses days to produce the music he was capable of in past years.....

Sorry Lindsey :'(
