Best Beatles Album?

I know it's way over-asked, but after years of conversations with people, I'm still conflicted. I favor the later albums, but there's something to be said for every one for different reasons. So, I come to y'all. Which Beatles album tops the rest, and why?

I definitely like the later albums as well, and it is very hard to choose just one Beatles album as the best (all of them are great in different ways). I've always really enjoyed Abbey Road! I love the concept of the medley for the second half of the album, and the first half is excellent as well. I feel like it showcases the talent of each individual Beatle, and just shows how far the Beatles came from their first album.

I really like Abbey Road too (definitely within my top three), just because I think it mixes in a lot of classics (Come Together, Something, Here Comes the Sun, etc.) but also has a lot of great obscurities (Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Because, Mean Mr. Mustard, Polythene Pam, She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, etc.) But I wonder if more weight should be given to "turning point" albums such as Revolver or Let It Be, or even Rubber Soul/Help!, just because they represented major shifts in the band's direction as musicians, Revolver focusing more heavily on experimental instrumentation, Rubber Soul/Help! representative early stage drug use (to a point), and Let It Be as far as signifying the disintegration of their career at the very end. Albums like Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper's, Magical Mystery Tour are great, but are more "in-betweener" albums, if you ask me.

The turning point albums are definitely great, and obviously so important in the context of the Beatles entire career. For being one of the most innovative and influential bands of all time, the Beatles had a relatively short career. In this sense, the turning point albums are especially important with showcasing the transformation in such a short period of time. However, I still believe that Abbey Road is the best because it marks the culmination of what the Beatles came to be. I guess your view depends upon the weight you put on the end result, or the journey in between.

i like all their albums except Yellow Submarine, used to say i disliked Magical Mystery Tour until SteveO and Music Head reminded me of some of the great tracks on it...
