this has been bugging me for some time...
how/what/when etc are musicians entitled to royalties...
1) when it comes to radio airplay
2) sales of recordings
3) writer royalties
and also....
say an artist signs a deal with a label for ten million dollars for five albums...what does that mean exactly?
because ive always thought that the label gives them that money as a holding fee to stay until they make five albums during a specified period...am I wrong?
or maybe does it mean...
the label has allotted that ten million dollars(for example) to cover studio hire,producer/session muso's/album artwork/printing of cds etc???
