Eagles of Death Metal "zipper down"
first up and lets get this out of the way first...
its a disgusting crass/feral piece of cover art IMO...
sorry, but theres no need for this crap to be a part of music!
now on with the album....
fourth album by this Palm Springs(California) duo...
i'd not heard of them until a couple of weeks ago when I posted
an single as a "new release"...
lots of influences on this one from Stones, T-Rex amongst others...
most notable influence is easily that of Devo,
purely for the electro/guitar combination and the catchy little melodies...
so, if you like the link I post you will like the album because that sound runs
just about all the way through it...
twelve tracks and a running time of less than forty minutes gives us short sharp
three minute pop songs...
some of the lyrics are bloody stupid but they have the melody to carry it through,
again, like Devo did all those years ago...
all up, not a bad album
and on a first up listen it makes the grade for me even though I dropped
marks for that disgusting cover art which, again, is not necessary.
from the album, the lead off single "complexity"
