SHAI MAESTRO ~ Human
This is Shai Maestro's second album on the ECM label - a great endorsement as Manfred Eicher has keen ear for authenticity and quality. I like this style of contemporary jazz - it's melodic, to a degree, which helps me - highbrow jazz is beyond my comprehension. Suffice to say I enjoyed listening to this album - Maestro is a marvelous piano player - very clean and at the same time emotive. He is an extremely talented young man. Loved the track "Compassion" which is gorgeous, IMHO and which is unfortunately only available on YouTube to premium subscribers. Seriously considering that move - has anyone else tried it?
