An outrageous statement, especially when attached to a song they didn't write. If you care to temper that by saying the mood or milieu we enjoy, we have some agreement. Let's don't get too carried away, OK? Who knows what might have happened with American pop music if the music hadn't died in that Clear Lake plane crash. I did however greatly enjoy those clips...

Just the sheer joy I experienced during my teens , revisited over and over again ! I listen to all music, have been for decades, listened to Charlie Parker at 15 years old, and so on! Tons and tons of different music !

When it comes to The Beatles, a cover song or one of their masterpieces, I DO AND WILL GET CARRIED away !

Thanks very much for taking the time to view these posts, Jazz! The music from Buddy was already being emulated by the Beatles....American pop rock influenced them directly! The Lennon McCartney liaison wrote many timeless melodic songs that are covered even today! Their music is timeless! Any other pop rock artist laying claim to that recognition ????
