There are a lot of really great rock bands coming out of Toronto these days that are not really well known outside of the city. Here are a few of my favourites:
The Nightmares THE NIGHTMARES ![[Image: 4859_90728919627_502934627_1800407_342587_n.jpg]](http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs118.snc1/4859_90728919627_502934627_1800407_342587_n.jpg) Teenage X Teenage X ![[Image: 6168_115020042181_16393172181_2450905_538609_n.jpg]](http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs165.snc1/6168_115020042181_16393172181_2450905_538609_n.jpg) Rehab for Quitters http://www.myspace.com/rehabforquitters ![[Image: 550692075_m.jpg]](http://b5.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/00550/57/02/550692075_m.jpg)

I recently covered a young rock guitarist Tyler Bryant who was very impressive. He is on the verge of a record deal on a major label here in Nashville. You can check out some pics and a short article here.

idk about unheard of i don't watch mtv or listen to the radio.. but i'll throw out some possibilities -
The Postman Syndrome - try out "Terraforming" for one of my favorite albums ever (they are broken up now btw) Nodes of Ranvier - check out the self-titled album, it's very cool kinda hardcorish but with excellent time tested pure metal flavor (also broken up) Red Sparowes - more of mood music with a rock background.. "Every Red Heart Shines Toward the Red Sun" imo is thier best work (also known as the album with those crazy long song titles).. a cool song to try out - "We Stood Transfixed in Blank Devotion As Our Leader Spoke to Us, Looking Down on Our Mute Faces with a Great, Raging, and Unseeing Eye." it is about 9 min. long but gives you a great idea what the bands about.
