They are a pretty good band. I like them, they are very good live. Not really anything unusual about their sound compared to other metal-core bands so, their effect is one of support to a thriving scene. Do you know more about their influence on the scene coykiesaol?

I like a band if I like the vocals ! I like Zakk Wylde's voice , a little like Ozzy's. They really have no direct influence within their "genre" - the Order of the Black album was very good.
Report on Norma Jean to follow !

Hey Coykiesaol,
O God, the Aftermath is impressive ! The group is very aggressive and loud..certainly not boring !!! They also have a punk music edge which I am not a huge ongoing fan. , like EvilB, think that this is a great Visual Band , I can't listen to loud aggressive on cd , I have to see it !
They're not a bad group overall but really not my cup of tea. As far as an influence on post core/metalcore you would know much more than I !!!
Maybe some of the other members that are more educated in this music will join in and give you a better opinion !

If you like Norma, check out my band Decades Away. We have a similar vibe to them!
I absolutely love Norma Jean. That whole chaotic post hardcore scene is really thriving at the moment. Starting with old bands like Botch and just exploding into amazing bands like Norma Jean, The Chariot, Nora and the most recent Underoath record (with the original norma drummer. Seriously check it out. Amazing album).
I live in Australia and right now theres a really amazing chaotic post hardcore scene emerging. Its like a breath of fresh air compared to all awful metalcore and straight edge hardcore bands dominating the scene. Just my two cents
