BEST INDI ALBUM: Art Vs Science "the experiment"
BEST URBAN ALBUM: Drapht "the life of riley"
POSTHUMOUS AWARD: Billy Thorpe "tangier"
LIFETIME AWARDS: Kylie Minogue/The Wiggles

i have posted the Boy & Bear, Gotye,Billy Thorpe and Casey Chambers albums in the threads, all three came out in the high like ratings and are justifiable winners IMO,

Pink has always been more popular here than any other country per head of population, so her winning is no surprise.

i dont like Art Vs Science or Drapht so i have not listened to their respective albums.

The Audreys...have not heard enough of them to form an opinion as yet.

Birds Of Tokyo...only have one album which is ok, not good enough for me to investigate further

LIFETIME AWARDS winners...
Kylie Minogue....i dont like kylie but for the best part of 25yrs has had numerous hits both here and in europe, so i guess she deserves it
The Wiggles....well, these guys have sold over 25million albums worldwide, plus dvds, live shows and a popular childrens programme, guess they have paid their dues?!, but its got to be embarrassing for 'true artists' who have yet to be inducted here!

Gotye also recieved three other awards for his album(production, engineering, artwork)
Casey Chambers 'country album' award was her 5th in that catagory...a record!..pretty sure she only has around six albums??
The Wiggles recieved their 10th ARIA this year!

thanks for this CH
I'm one of the few that is interested in award winners
That doesn't mean I always agree with them, just like to know.

i rarely agree with award winners and dislike the whole award show process, but it is interesting to see artists being praised for their work by their peers, and always interesting to see who wins...
in this case, this year, Gotye was the standout aussie artist along with Boy & Bear IMO...so i was happy with the results this time round as they coincided with my own thoughts and opinions

as an off the cuff guess...from memory "Barricades & Brickwalls" is my favourite....Dani prefers "the captain",
not much between them though...she is 'real' country for the most part mate!
