the Small Faces never put out a bad album neither...but then again they only had three or four proper studio albums, including the grossly underrated "ogdens nut gone flake" which was as revolutionary as Sgt Peppers badk in the day...not for technology but for sheer experimentation and for linking songs with dialogue...well worth a listen if you get the chance, or better still, go and buy it!

Gryph's mention of Genesis' Wind and Wuthering
has peaked my interest as well as MH's mention of Alison Krauss !

slowly getting through the cd's SteveO....
Small Faces only released several albums..the Small Faces pretty much imploded after that due to directional disagreements, history says the band werent impressed with the single "lazy sunday" but Marriott insisted it be released, they, without Marriott, then became The Faces with a very young Rod Stewart on lead vocals, and Marriott left to form Humble Pie with his good friend Peter Frampton
Steve Marriott was approached by Jimmy Page to front a then unknown Led Zepplin but he opted to join his mate Frampton....not sure how Led Zep would have gone with Marriott instead of Plant, i guess we'll never know?!

it was originally released as a stand alone single, however it is available as a bonus track on "the autumn stone" cd...
there's always the usual "best of" sets as well

ok thanks, mate ! itchykoo is a great song...another example of a great single not a studio album...like Hey Jude ...heh that would make a great thread ! What major songs never made it on an album....
