What new artists and/or labels have you discovered recently? And, if you remember, how did you come across them?

I just discovered Matthew Robert Cooper and his Miniatures.

A proper album by Brian Eno and Philip Glass ranks near the top of my dream collaborations. ...As Eluvium, Matthew Robert Cooper seems to dream of this collaboration, too, setting drones of Eno-caliber beatitude against piano and string themes of Glass-caliber austerity..."Miniature 3" evokes the gusty expanses of Christopher Bissonnette, or the hugely scaled ambiance of Stars of the Lid. Chords crest and break in super-slow-mo, and archipelagic bass tones wink in and out of a sea of stringed resonance...

#2: Shed - Shedding the Past
- an album that will be out in September on Germany's Ostgut Tonträger label. It recalls classic Detroit techno built on top of today's sounds. I read about it on some blog, I forget which. A lot of people are talking about it.

#3 Slowhouse - Three
- It's pretty much what the artist calls themselves - house music slowed down and done right. I read about it on the Little White Earbuds blog.

#4 Jasper TX - This Quiet Season and Black Sheep
- Both of these albums were released this year. I found this guy on the mnmlssg blog, where you will find a free podcast by him. His style can be described as "drone, ambient and post-rock".

I just discovered Otto von Schirach's Maxipad Detention. It's a really wierd mix of idm, electronica and grindcore. Quite interesting.

I saw Otto von Schirach back in '07 when he opened for Skinny Puppy. Very interesting show... Very entertaining.

I saw Otto von Schirach at a Schematic showcase in 2001. That was an awesome show, partially for the venue. It was at the Limelight in nyc. That's a legendary club for those who don't know. It's the club in the movie Party Monster. It's an old church with several levels of balconies around the main dance-floor. Anyways, at the show I was more into Richard Devine.
