Don't really like it - there are one or two good ideas, but essentially it sounds the same as all the other stuff coming out. Formulaic. EDM or electronic dance music can just as easily be called electronic disco music - it's a fad and it won't survive. A new music will be born out of it where the composers won't care about BPM or any other prescribed rules and formulas. And there will not be any 'so and so' featuring 'so and so' which seems to be a prerequisite these days. We just have to wait a bit to hear some really good electronic music again. It's coming and none of us know what it is going to sound like yet.

Awww c'mon MH.....

havent you noticed how pop music is starting to change in the last three or so years(its changing slowly but its getting back to basics)

im not a fan of Mumfords anymore, but their popularity has bought about a few acoustic alt-almost folky singers now like Sheeran,James Bay,George Ezra,James Bugg...
and that just from the UK,
looks to me already like music is starting to get "back to basics"....
even the Alt bands arent as heavy as they were in the early 00's....
take Arcade Fire,Imagine Dragons,My Morning Jacket, modern Kings Of Lean for example...

there also seems to be a rise in the number of artists going back to psychadelia of late also(well, modernisd psychadelia anyway)

true all that
I was referring to electronic
clubs have taken that over
and all they want is that bpm
can't think of anyplace else they can take it
that's why we all complain about the sameness
anything else they do would just be retro

I've been waiting for that rap fad to die for about 30 years now

All the record companies thought Beatles were a fad also.....
No one would sign them up except EMI-Parlophone who had never produced a rock band previously, then gave them George Martin to produce them....
He had only ever produced comedy and classical records up to that point!

How wrong they all were.

Indeed. Sometimes ignorance and always serendipity works in our favor.
