Iâve been listening to the strangely unsung David Knopfler â so far Iâve heard Small Mercies, Lifelines, Wishbones and Ship of Dreams, of which the latter two, Iâll definitely be adding to my collection first. Ship of Dreams is stunning, in every way, IMHO â great instrumentation and production. Making comparisons to Mark is inevitable, I suppose, but the more I hear this younger brother, the less that seems to be my inclination - in fact, if comparisons are to be drawn, there's a lot Dylan-like about him. He definitely stands up on his own, has gone his own route, and is a lyricist of note â a very interesting exploration! Chris White appears on most of his albums, Tim Whitehead on sax on this one, and Chris Rea with his slide. Huh! New one from him expected next month â Grace.

Had one album by him called 'Cut The Wire' or something like that. Can't say that it really did anything for me. I think there was one track that stood out for me but the rest was pretty bland material.

debut album from this American rock/hard rock band....
bought it for $2 in a discount bin a while ago....
terrible album IMO.....
they sound like Iron Maiden/Guns n Roses wannabees......
only one track on here I like, and I happen to love it, that one happens to be the "cats in the cradle" cover....
everything else is a piece of crap, but for $2 I got my money's worth for that one track IMO.....
so all up thirteen tracks, twelve dislikes and one I love,
that gives a rating of 1.1

That's their best album IMO and I'm not a reggae fan by any means.
I got that album on vinyl when it came out, it included a bonus disc containing the full length versions of Tyler, Food For Thought and King....great stuff!

No Guru, No Method, No Teacher â Van Morrison at idiosyncratic best, IMHO. Itâs impossible not to be seduced by the spiralling, luscious, looping warm sounds of most of the tracks on this album. The musicians are simply amazing â wonderful piano, fantastic sax, excellent strings and bass. To me, an album that seems as though it would have the power to draw out and expand on even the tiniest hidden kernel of Celtic soul. Iâve so much enjoyed hearing it again. A few snippets â¦
