What Are You Listening To?
Genesis - Seconds Out - this must rate as one of the definitive live albums of the 70's - incredible album. And if you thought Phil Collins was just a pop sensation, listen to his drumming on this album. Masterful.

Auberge, by Chris Rea. I've only had it on vinyl up to now - got the CD recently and have been wallowing in it! Just stunning - absolutely great listening, all the way through. This is the last track -

love most of this
prefer his ballads over the rock
could not find a studio clip of Against The Wind
what's up with that?
same with We've Got Tonight
that's just frustrating
is Seger like Dylan when it comes to youtube?
here's an audio of a live

Great album!!! I bought this a good few years ago. Money well spent. That live version of 'Turn The Page' is riveting.

MEAT LOAF "welcome to the neighbourhood" cd, 1995

career stats:
studio albums..........12
singles....................39

this album....................#17 US...#10 AU...#3 UK
singles:
"id lie for you(and that's the truth)".......#13 US...#7 AU...#2 UK
"running for the red light"............................................#21 UK
"not a dry eye in the house"...........................................#7 UK

seems ole' Meat is more popular in the UK than anywhere else nowadays, with two top10
hits off this album....
this album sticks to the usual formula...rock/hard rock, rock ballads, overblown ballads etc...
nothing wrong with it though because that's where his strengths lie...
Sammy Hagar and Tom Waits each contributed on this one, each writing one track...
Jim Steinman wrote a few also...
"running for the red light" is a re-working of the old Easybeats hit "good times"...
same tune with the majority of lyrics changed...
all up a reasonably good album...not his worst but at the same time, not up there
with his great albums....

I LIKE THIS ALBUM:

worst track: if this is the last kiss
best track: i'd lie for you(and that's the truth)"

5...left in the dark **
6...not a dry eye in the house **

pretty good compilation this one....
full of bluesy, rootsy rock and roll, none of that 'abracadabra' crap from the 1980s..
I was surprised how much I liked this one as I only really bought it for 'the joker'...
contains most of their hits from that period plus a couple of live performances...
