What Are You Listening To?
Closing Time...i like that song,
never got round to buying the album...
sounds like I needn't worry about doing so.

Virginia band formed in 1992
six albums to their credit and this is their best selling at #24 here
last was in 2008 so I guess they're history

this is the bands only charting single
grunge rock I guess
hell I don't know, it's music

I checked MH's post of this one and on score we are on the same page...
we even rate the same track as best track...
we differ slightly on track scoring, on a few tracks though....

California band
not near as good for me as their debut, Up From Below
yet this charted higher at #5
probably on the strength of that previous effort
as none of 3 singles from here even charted

this was the first and the leadoff track
a nice in studio performance

"you bowed down"........................no charted action

album #19 for Mr.Costello....
one of the worst charting of his career to date...
six singles released and only one charted in the UK at a paltry #58, the rest failed to chart....
I guess he loved this one and really wanted it to sell....
a lot of slow ballady type material on this one with a couple of alt rockers thrown in the mix...
it makes the passing grade for me and im a fan, but by his standards it is very average...
but as usual theres a couple of great songs on it, but unusually, theres a few dud tracks also...
not a good place to start your collection of his music, one for the fans only.

third album from Perth boy Kevin Parker...
he records all of his albums in his home studio, plays all instruments and produces the final results...
his first album "innerspeaker" was totally psychedelic", his second "lonerism" was a bit more radio friendly but with
less psychadelia and a more guitar driven sound...
this one, his third, veers away from the guitar and goes more electronic/synth based...
the results....?
not as catchy as the second album but still melodic...
less variation in the songs on this one also....
but nonetheless not a bad album from a one man band from Perth, Western Australia, who also
happens to be one of the nicest people you could ever meet!
