What Are You Listening To?
Jerome Wrote:It's VERY obvious that nothing is actually being played here. This has all been programmed in a sequencer/DAW. There is no human touch to this at all.

Oh. Maybe I don't understand it that well then. Sorry I'm a pleb when is comes to this I guess . You're saying he just inputted the notes into a program?

Yes that's right - you can tell because there is a very robotic feel about the piece. Having said that, he does have an ear for melody/structure, but he needs to play the parts - not program them.

a "newbie", a "beginner"....

in Australia recruits in the military/police force would be generally called "plebs".
I don't know where the word comes from though???!

It's short for plebeian, which referred to a 'commoner', specifically in ancient Roman times; a peasant, you could say, someone of a lower social order. Totally outdated, but has persisted and even gained, in terms of derogatory usage, over time. It's a word that is used to describe someone who is uncultured and unsophisticated, for example, but which, oddly, doesn't seem to have hugely insulting connotations. Probably because most of us are plebs anyway.

You're dealing with someone who makes a living out of writing.
