that album scored a 2.1 from me when I posted it...Creep was best track for me

I also have their fourth album with the well thought out title "#4", that one scored 2.2 from me:

like you said....Grunge grew old pretty quick...
I guess its because grunge is grunge. very little variation on the music from one band to the next, it is what it is...much like reggae and blues for me.

I think I would rate Stone Temple Pilots as my favourite of the genre though followed by Pearl Jam, then Soundgarden in third place.
was never a big fan of Nirvana but I loved their unplugged cd/dvd,
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..."  -  Me 2014.

it would get close to that score for me, maybe a little under
now I'm on to the next one

2nd album here

as has each album since then
must have liked the debut enough to have followed up with this one
but the like is fading
nothing I love here and a few I don't like at all

KID ROCK "born free" cd, 2010

career stats:
studio albums.......10
singles.................44

this album............#5 US...#11 CAN...#63 AU...#139 UK
singles:
"born free"...................#21 AU
"God bless Saturday".....no chart action
"collide".......................no chart action
"purple sky".................no chart action
"care"..........................no chart action

Kid's eighth studio set and his sixth to so platinum in the US...
its difficult to place his music because theres country, rock and roll and everything inbetween
so I put him here in Alternative to cover all the bases...
lots of that rootsy southern rock on this one a little bit of country also...
duets with Mary J Blige (track #3), Sheryl Crow (track #7) and Zac Brown (track #8),
theres also a guest appearance from Bob Seger playing guitar and back up vocals on track #7...
all up, not a bad album, not as good as best material, but not his worst neither, well, nothing could be
as bad as that rap crap that kick started his career!

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

best track: flyin' high (featuring Zac Brown)

JOHNNY MARR & THE HEALERS "boomslang" cd, 2003.

this album..............no chart info.
singles:
"the last ride"............no chart info
"bangin' on"..............#78 UK
"down on the corner"..no chart info

firstly,
its difficult to know where Marr's solo career begins and ends as he's been part of a few band's since the
demise of The Smiths..The The and Modest Mouse are two he was a member o at some point and all his
other material credits other bands on the album, just like this one...
secondly,
the title "boomslang" means (as our South African members would know), "to get caught up in something",
which comes from the tree dwelling venomous snake's name from that part of the world..
ok,
the album, I hear lots of Smiths, Oasis, Stone Roses and latter day T-Rex/Bolan on this one...
the music promises so much in terms of quality alt rock but fails to deliver fully on the lyrics and/or the vocals
from Marr himself...
not a bad album overall though.

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

worst track: headland
best track: down on the corner

I was never a fan of INXS,
I either loved or hated their songs, no inbetween for me,
"never tear us apart" was their best song for me.
