i am thinking of music for christmas-i am unable to go and visit my family this year, as are two of my friends and we have decided to make a day of it at my flat (the less said about me cooking a turkey, the better ;0) )
but they really aren't going to appreciate the hanson christmas album as background music-no matter how much i love it and WILL sing along at the top of my voice..
does anyone have any suggestions as to any decent christmas music cds out there?

No advice here. They're all the same to me.
When it comes to that, I'm more of a traditionalist in that I prefer the religious based x-mas music. And I prefer it done by choirs. Don't like that santa/frosty/rudolph stuff.
But I do love Nat King Coles The Christmas Song.

Why is it that Christmas Carols are repeated every year. It drives me crazy when they start playing last years Christmas songs, which incidentally has been played every year for the last 10 years. Am I going mad, or are others in agreement with me on this :brick:

lmao that reminds me of the conversation i had with my brother-he's 15, and i had to expalin to him that as i work in theatre, we have christmas shows and i have had the last 5 years off to come and visit him, that i had to be in london this year..he greeted the information with-well, i'll still get a present won't i?!

'All I want for Christmas is you' by Mariah Carey or My Chemical Romance (leftover from our emo phase a couple of years ago - MCR, not Mariah)
'Santa Claus is coming to town' by Bruce Springteen (accompanied by my husband shouting it loudly)
'Merry Xmas everybody' by Slade (everyone shouting it loudly)
Any choir singing 'Adeste Fideles' (I like singing in Latin)

Bob Dylan recently released a christmas album, seems pretty nice to me. Not only does it have good music on it, it also helps feed the poor since all the money raised by the album goes to different charities.

:laugh: And it's when you go into these shops and they start playing 'Jingle Bells' or 'Rockin, round the christmas tree'. Staff look miserable as they have already had to listen to this 300 times that, as they loop it. People get annoyed as it is busy, and they have to wait a long time because of queue's at the tills.
