Listening to a rather interesting track from a band called the Receiver, who I just discovered via the Kscope site:

![]() THE DOORS "L.A woman" cd, 1971 career stats: studio albums............9 singles.....................21 this album..................#9 US...#9 AU...#11 CAN...#28 UK singles: "love her madly".........#11 US....#6 AU...#3 CAN "riders on the storm"...#14 US..#10 AU...#7 CAN...#22 UK band's sixth and final one with Morrison.... never really called myself a fan... always thought Michael Hutchence (INXS) was an imitator with his movements and persona... so, never really a fan but I own two albums, this one obviously and its predecessor "morrison hotel"... not really much wrong with this album... contains a lot of brilliant songs IMO, all of which could have been issued as singles with no problem... sound is quite bluesy on most songs with their original twist on them... no one sounded like these guys and Morrison's voice is quite unique, not a great voice, simply one of a kind... all up a real classy affair! I LOVE THIS ALBUM worst track: cars hiss by my window best track: hyacinth house tracks: 1...the changling *** 2...love her madly *** 3...been down so long ** 4...cars hiss by my window * 5...L.A woman ** 6...L' America *** 7...hyacinth house *** 8...crawling king snake ** 9...the WASP *** 10.riders on the storm *** 3s=6 2s=3 1s=1 rating: 2.5

Don't know if this is even the right thread to put this one under - a real mixed bag. The Cinematic Orchestra - Ma Fleur - I hear their music popping up all over the place - movies, TV ads etc.

Strawbs - Hero & Heroine - my favourite of theirs. Some incredible tracks on this one.

![]() CHEAP TRICK "at Budokan" cd, 1979 career stats: studio albums..............17 singles........................64 this album...............#1 US...#1 CAN...#1 AU...#29 UK singles: "i want you to want me"......#7 US...#2 CAN...#42 AU...#29 UK "aint that a shame"...........#35 US..#10 CAN their first live album.... full of kick ass rock and roll.... I have around hal of their studio albums, fantastic rock band IMO... includes a very good cover of Fats' "aint that a shame"... I don't rate live albums with a score, theyre either poorly recorded, ok or very well recorded... they either sound lousy, good or very good depending on the band's performance... this one is well recorded, and theyre brilliant live... two ticks from me say its a fantastic album... heres the Fats Domino cover, not from Budokan but instead, from a TV performance in 1980...
