I was 8 when 9/11 happened and at school when the first plane struck the twin towers. When I got home, I saw the second plane hit on the news and I knew people were dying inside. My sense of safety definitely eroded. Some details are a bit fuzzy.
There were many brave souls at Ground Zero and firefighters, soldiers, and others trying to help people. I remember the grieving and pictures of lost loved ones around NY. It must've been scary to see it happen in person and my heart goes out to those who lost family, friends, etc during the event. Rest in peace. Peter Gabriel - I Grieve - I get teary eyed during this song when I hear it.

I feel saddened by things that happens in my country and the world, I sometimes have to turn off the News so I don't become overwhelmed. Anyone else like that? How do people not succumb to the pressure of the world and it's events? Detachment is something I try to do. I know not everything is bad, I've heard a lot of negativity this past year or so... it's kind of affecting me. Keep your head up, amirite?
