What Are You Listening To?
Oceansoul Wrote:^^ Nice! I actually just came across his music and can't believe he flew under my radar, but I like what I'm hearing so far. I'll check out some of his albums.

Right now, I'm listening to Radiohead - Street Spirit (Fade Out)

While I haven't lied in saying I'm not much of a fan of Radiohead, there are songs I have a favorable opinion of like this one and How To Disappear Completely (so crushing). Not every song of Radiohead's can get under my skin since some songs can be flat and lifeless to my ears. I think I have a bias against wanting to like them mainly because of Thom Yorke and some of Radiohead's fans can over hype them for me.

Maybe Radiohead just isn't my cup of tea. I don't know.

I can probably count on both hands how many Radiohead songs I've listened too, but they have some good ones. Fake Plastic Trees is pretty good. Maybe a few on Pablo Honey....and I once owned Kid A...i seem to recall that there were a few decent ones on there, but it's been awhile since I've listened to it.

But yeah, I guess if I really digged them, I've certainly had enough to time to get into them, so I guess they aren't exactly my cup o' tea either Tongue

Yeah, I think Radiohead has some good songs in their discography, but so far I've only really dug into Kid A which has a few I like and A Moon Shaped Pool. So I won't say they don't have songs I like, I just can't say the same about a decent amount of their music. Some stuff still leaves me cold -shrugs- Maybe Radiohead will grow on me or not, heh.

U2 "no line on the horizon" cd, 2009

career stats:

singles...........................58

this album.....................#1 IRE...#1 UK...#1 AU...#1 US...#1 CAN

"magnificent".................#5 IRE....#42 UK.................#79 US...#68 CAN
"ill go crazy if I don't..."...#7 IRE....#38 UK..............................#78 CAN

first up, I don't know why I persisted with these guys for so long, but I have!....
and secondly, love the album title and the cover art....
album IMO, doesn't even sound like U2 to me....'
was produced jointly be Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois and im not a fan of either
for the most part, I find they overtake the artist and instil too much of themselves
into any recording they make (Eno/Bowie were good because they were one of the same IMO)....
very little on here I like, and the chart placings for the singles prove that also to an extent...
album sold a paltry five million copies worldwide, pretty poor by their usual sales figures,
only "boy", "October" and their most recent effort have sold less copies...
their albums generally only make the pass grade for me but this one comes nowhere near
passing from my piint of view, a terrible album by anyone's measure IMO....

I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

FAB's second album....
some long song titles on this one...
alt rock sounds, unfortunately most sound similar to those of
Blink182, and I hate those guys, thus the low score on this one....
nothing great on this one from my point of view....
had it have been the first of theirs I purchased I probably wouldn't have gone
back for seconds, but it wasn't so there!....
not a very good album and one I don't really care if If I never heard anymore!

been struggling through this 5 cd box set
one of the few I own
love the liner notes and their 4 studio albums
but there is so much filler added on each disc
have to be a bigger fan than me to appreciate it

one of my favs

aint no way I could listen to anyone's whole boxset in one listen mate...well done on achieving it

I have one VU album, I have the album with the Warhol banana cover...good album, best tracks for me on it, "heroin" and "there she goes again"

one of those artists/bands that can be called "original and unique".

Michigan band, 2nd album
out of the grunge/alt scene
never followed up on them after this album
thought they were long gone but their 7th came out in 2014
an 8 year gap at one point
this was their highest charting at #24

single
