Australian music charts for week ending 10th December 206:

singles:

Clean Bandit’s ‘Rockabye’ holds the #1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart for a second straight week. The track has held the #1 spot in the UK for the past four weeks.
A jump of three spots to #8 for ‘Stranger’ has given Peking Duk a third ARIA Singles Chart top ten. The Canberra duo has previously hit the top ten with ‘High’ (#5 Apr. ’14) and ‘Take Me Over’ (#6 Dec. ’14).
As ‘Starboy’ spends its eighth week at #2 on the ARIA Singles Chart, The Weeknd’s other collaboration with Daft Punk, ‘I Feel It Coming’, moves up 11 spots to #13.
Up nine spots from last week to #14, ‘Scars To Your Beautiful’ becomes Alessia Cara’s second-highest peak on the ARIA Singles Chart. The track is two spots below the peak reached with ‘Here’ (#12 Jan. ’16).
Frenship’s ‘Capsize’ picks up a new peak in its seventh week in the top 50, hitting #17.
Debuts:
#40: Robin Schulz & David Guetta Feat. Cheat Codes ‘Shed A Light’ – German producer Robin Schulz and French producer David Guetta join forces for ‘Shed A Light’. The track, which features American trio Cheat Codes, is Schulz’s first chart appearance as a lead artist since ‘Sugar’ (#3 Oct. ’15) and Guetta’s first since ‘Bang My Head’ (#21 Dec. ’15).
#42: Childish Gambino ‘Redbone’ – Scoring his highest peak on the ARIA Albums Chart at #9 with “Awaken, My Love!”, American artist Childish Gambino also picks up his first entry on the ARIA Singles Chart. ‘Redbone’ is the album’s second single.
#47: Nicki Minaj & Mike Will Made-It ‘Black Barbies’ – Rapper Nicki Minaj and producer Mike Will Made-It join forces for ‘Black Barbies’. The track uses the instrumental from Rae Sremmurd’s ‘Black Beatles’ (#3 Nov. ’16). It’s Minaj’s first chat entry as a lead artist since ‘Bed Of Lies’ (#7 Dec. ’14) and Mike Will Made-It’s first since ‘23’ (#39 Oct. ’13).

Returning with their first studio album in over ten years, the legendary Rolling Stones have hit #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for the first time in over 20 years with Blue & Lonesome (see below).
With his national tour underway and three Grammy nominations, Keith Urban returns to the top ten at #7 with Ripcord. The former #1 album was nominated for Best Country Album and the single ‘Blue Ain't Your Color’ has been nominated for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song.
In its third week in the top 50, the soundtrack to Trolls has jumped a further nine spots to a new peak of #12.
Also touring Australia, Coldplay have jumped eight spots to #14 with A Head Full Of Dreams. The band’s 4 CD Catalogue Set has re-entered the chart at #50.
Christmas albums continue to make their presence felt on the chart, with Michael Bublé’s Christmas moving up one spot to #2. A Pentatonix Christmas is also up one spot to #23. Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas is up six to #25. Human Nature’s The Christmas Album is up eight to #30. Pentatonix’s That’s Christmas To Me is up five to #32. The Ten Tenors have re-entered the chart at #42 with Our Christmas Wish.
Debuts:
#1: The Rolling Stones ‘Blue & Lonesome’ – With their first studio album since A Bigger Bang (#4 Sept. ’05) The Rolling Stones have scored their first #1 on the ARIA Charts since Voodoo Lounge (#1 Jul. ’94). Recorded in just three days, Blue & Lonesome features covers of blues artists including Willie Dixon, Little Walter, Howlin’ Wolf, Memphis Slim and more.
Prior to the advent of the ARIA Charts, The Rolling Stones scored #1s in Australia with The Rolling Stones (3 weeks, 1965), Their Satanic Majesties Request (3 weeks, 1968), Sticky Fingers (2 weeks, 1971), Goats Head Soup (4 weeks, 1973) and Tattoo You (11 weeks, 1981).
#9: Childish Gambino ‘“Awaken, My Love!”’ – American musician/actor Donald Glover picks up his highest ARIA Charts peak with “Awaken, My Love!” the third album released under the Childish Gambino moniker. The album comes three years on from Because The Internet (#37 Dec. ’13). In between, Glover released the EP Kauai (#25 Oct. ’14). The track ‘Redbone’ becomes Childish Gambino’s first top 50 entry on the ARIA Singles Chart this week, debuting at #42.
#11: Cold Chisel ‘The Live Tapes Vol. 3: Live At The Manly Vale Hotel, Sydney June 7, 1980’ – The third release in Cold Chisel’s Live Tapes series. It overtakes The Live Tapes Vol. 2: Live At Bombay Rock, April 27, 1979 (#19 Nov. ’14) as the series’ highest peak. The show was recorded in the same week the band’s third album East was released.
#26: Soundtrack ‘The Hamilton Mixtape’ – An all-star cast including Sia, The Roots, Chance The Rapper and Alicia Keys reinterpret tracks from the musical Hamilton on The Hamilton Mixtape. The original soundtrack for Hamilton - An American Musical peaked at #42 in June.
#31: Guy Sebastian ‘Part 1 - EP’ – Guy Sebastian picks up his first Albums Chart appearance since Madness (#6 Dec. ’14) with the Part 1 EP. The six-track release features the single ‘Set In Stone’ (#11 Nov. ’16)
#35: Kate Miller-Heidke ‘The Best Of Kate Miller-Heidke: Act One’ – A two-disc set bringing togetrher the career-so-far of Brisbane singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke. The album features the singles ‘Words’ (#43 Jul. ’07), ‘Can’t Shake It’ (#38 Oct. ’08), ‘Caught In The Crowd’ (#33 Jun. ’09) and ‘The Last Day’ On Earth’ (#3 Aug. ’09).
#37: John Legend ‘Darkness And Light’ – Album five from American singer-songwriter John Legend. The follow-up to Love In The Future (#15 Jan. ’14) features the single ‘Love Me Now’ (#25 Nov. ’16), as well as appearances by Chance The Rapper, Miguel and Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard.
#41: Twenty One Pilots ‘Vessel/Blurryface’ – A double album package bring together Twenty One Pilots’ third album Vessels and most recent release Blurryface (#7 Aug. ’16).

In the face of some stiff competition, Clean Bandit hold on to the Number 1 spot with Rockabye. The band's second chart-topper, featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie, logs a sixth consecutive week at Number 1, scoring a comfortable lead of over 15,000 combined sales ahead of its nearest rival.
The race for Christmas Number 1 kicks off today, of course – can Clean Bandit hang on to claim the festive chart-topper next Friday the 23rd?

Challenging them at Number 2 is this week's highest new entry, Just Hold On from One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, in collaboration with Steve Aoki. The pair performed the track for the first time in Saturday's X Factor final, and the show's eventual winner Matt Terry is right behind them at 3 with his winner's single, the Ed Sheeran-penned When Christmas Comes Around, based on just five days’ sales and streams.
[h=4]Chart highlights[/h]Zara Larsson's I Would Like breaks the Top 20 for the first time, shooting nine places to 12, and Zayn and Taylor Swift's collaboration I Don't Wanna Live Forever, taken from the soundtrack of the new 50 Shades Darker movie, debuts at 16.

Following their electrifying medley performance at The X Factor final at the weekend, Little Mix's Touch zooms 136 places to land at Number 23, while J Cole's Deja Vu starts at 30.
Chris Rea's perennial classic Driving Home For Christmas makes its fourth appearance in the Top 40, at 37 – one of seven festive songs in this week's countdown – and Lady Gaga's Million Reasons climbs 21 slots to make its Top 40 debut, at 39.

UK albums charts for week ending 16th December 2016:




After five weeks in the Top 5, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe's Together finally hits Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart."This is absolutely fantastic," Michael Ball told OfficialCharts.com. "It just goes to show that you never, ever know what is around the corner in this business. We didn’t expect this. It is just unbelievable."
Alfie Boe added: "A huge thanks to everyone who bought the album. Our hearts go out to you all for Christmas. We hope we entertain you with the album for Christmas and lots of love to everyone."
The collection is Alfie's first UK Number 1 album and Michael's first for 24 years following his 1992 debut, and has been selling strongly over the past month. Together was BPI-certified Platinum this week, with sales of over 300,000, and has been held off Number 1 by the Rolling Stones, Little Mix and Robbie Williams but now reaches the top with a combined chart sales tally of 96,000.

The pair finished 26,000 ahead of the Rolling Stones' Blue & Lonesome, which falls one place to 2 this week, while Little Mix's Glory Days holds at 3.
[h=4]New entries and high climbers[/h]Phil Collins' The Singles lifts four places to Number 11, while Coldplay and Adele's latest albums both jump five places to 15 and 16 respectively.
Rick Astley's 50 will arrive in a fair few stockings this year, rising eight spots to 17, while J Cole's fourth studio album 4 Your Eyez Only lands at Number 21.
Finally, Aled Jones' One Voice at Christmas reaches a new peak of 24, up six, Elvis Presley's million-selling If I Can Dream rockets 11 spots to 36, and Katie Melua's In Winter returns to the Top 40, rising 20 places to 38.

For the third week in a row, Clean Bandit holds the #1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Rockabye’.
The Weeknd’s ‘Starboy’ is #2 for a ninth week. It’s now one week away from joining Maroon 5’s ‘Moves Like Jagger’ as the record holder for most weeks at #2 without reaching #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The Canadian artist also picks up a new peak this week with ‘I Feel It Coming’; it’s up two to #11.
A jump of two spots gives ‘24K Magic’ a new peak. It joins ‘Locked Out Of Heaven’ (#4 Nov. ’12) as Bruno Mars’ second-highest Singles Chart peak.
Moving up six spots, ‘Scars To Your Beautiful’ becomes Alessia Cara’s first top ten on the ARIA Singles Chart. It takes over from ‘Here’ as the Canadian singer-songwriter’s highest peak.
Andy Grammer’s ‘Fresh Eyes’ moves up 16 spots to #16, becoming the American singer-songwriter’s ARIA Singles Chart peak.

In its fifth week in the top 50, John Farnham & Olivia Newton-John’s Friends For Christmas has hit #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for the first time. The album debuted at #3 in November and hits #1 after two weeks at #4. Friends For Christmas becomes the twentieth Australian #1 album on the ARIA Charts in 2016.
With Keith Urban currently touring nationally, Ripcord returns to the top five for the first time since early June. The album spent its first two weeks on the chart at #1.
In the week Coldplay wrapped up their Australian tour, A Head Full Of Dreams (#2 Dec. ’15) returns to the top ten for the first time since mid-March. Further down the chart the band’s 4 CD Catalogue Set has achieved a new peak at #27.
On tour with Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood returns to the top 50 at #28 with Storyteller.
As well as Friends For Christmas at #1, there’s seven other Christmas albums in this week’s top 50: Michael Bublé’s Christmas (#2), Pentatonix’s A Pentatonix Christmas (#23). #12: Isaiah ‘Isaiah’ – The debut album from 2016 X Factor winner Isaiah Firebrace. It includes the single ‘It's Gotta Be You’ (#26 Nov. ’16), as well as covers of tracks by the likes of Rudimental, Pharrell, Rihanna and Beyoncé.
