What Are You Listening To?
I agree, I bought "the present" purely off the back of Long Distance Voyager" when it was released, haven't played it in a long while
and vaguely thinking there were only three, maybe four tracks that were ok, but nothing anywhere near as good as the LDV tracks.

the cover art of LDV is one of my favourite covers ever,
loved how it continued around the gatefold sleeve, I used to spent hours with a magnifying glass scanning the cover for every detail,
sadly, the artwork has been lost on the cd cover (as with most albums, obviously due to the formatted size of 12" square down to a third of that with cd)

CHEAP TRICK "all shook up" cd, 1980

career stats:
studio albums.........17
singles...................64

this album..................#24 US...#68 AU...#30 CAN
singles:
"stop this game".............#48 AU
"world's greatest lover"....#32 CAN

band's fifth studio album, sixth if you count "live in Budokan"....
songs here have a more polished finished sound than their previous releases...
there appears to be less oomph and more precision in what theyre doing...
im assuming the engineering work from Geoff Emerick and production by George Martin may have had
a lot to do with that, as those two guys were probably the best in the business back in the day and seemed to
install bits of their selves in what they had a hand in...
track #8, Love Comes A Tumblin' Down, is a tribute to the recently departed Bon Scott of AC/DC whom cheap Trick toured
the US with just months prior to his death...
all up, I nice album from CT, not their best my any means but still pretty good...

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

worst track: who d'king

Thin Lizzy - Johnny the Fox - have not listened to this in decades - still very good IMO.

Radio K.A.O.S. – Roger Waters … grabbed this on the way out today, along with Love Over Gold and One Eye to Morocco. K.A.O.S. won, which seemed appropriate! Lol!

CHEAP TRICK "next position please" cd, 1983

career stats:
studio albums.........17
singles...................64

this album..................#61 US
singles:
"dancing the night away".....no chart action
"i cant take it"....................no chart action

the band's seventh studio album and my last one to post (except for the latest one I bought a couple of days ago)....
album is their stock standard CT sound....
according to Wiki, its the band's favourite album....
title track was written and demo'd back in 1979 but never saw the light of day until '83...
cover is a parody of Springsteen's "born to run"...
again, typical of cheap Track albums for me, nothing I dislike (except for a couple on their debut set)...
not a bad album for me, they did better, but as previously said, the band thought this was their best album...
interesting to note with their chart positions that they were never really that big, they rarely made the top20
with their singles and albums anywhere, and that's sad because they were/are a great band IMO...

back to Radio KAOS Ruby....
theres nothing I dislike on the album,
The Tide Is Turning is brilliant, probably my favourite Waters' solo song and up there with the best of PF IMO.

With regard to the Radio KAOS album artwork. The green blobs are actually the title of the songs in Morse code.

OVO - Peter Gabriel - one of his better efforts.

Dave Sturt - Dreams and Absurdities. Not a very well known album but I think it is a great piece of work. Somewhere between instrumental Floyd, Brian Eno and everything else. Very unusual album. One I play quite a lot as well. Probably one of my favourite chill-out albums.
