I'm not a fan of live albums as a rule either. I only have three in my collection:
Yes - Yessongs Elton John - Live In Australia Joan Baez - 75th Birthday Concert If I am actually at the concert, I don't mind hearing people clapping, whistling, stamping etc., as I am probably doing the same.If I am listening to a recording, I'd rather just hear the artist not the audience. Those albums i listed, I got because I get material on those albums that I can't really hear any other way; that applies especially to the one by Elton John. Some of those early songs sound as though they were written for orchestra.

I agree in almost all cases, but I know of a few tunes where I prefer the arrangemnet and performance in a live version. One example is Eyes of the world, F Mac live at the forum. If I remember it correctly, you were the one mentioning the Mirage album, Bob. But I might be wrong

^^ I think I mentioned the Mirage album, but only in the context of songs/albums by different artists that have the same name. It was also the name of an album by Camel.
I don't own either Mirage.

Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
I've had this for a while, but only just round to giving it a spin. There is a lot to get one's head around on this album, and it's way to early to give it a review, but I have a feeling it will be a grower. This band has been really hit and miss for me over the years. I hated the song Creep, and for that reason I avoided them for a long time until I heard the song High and Dry one time on the radio. I decided to buy the album, The Bends, and at about the same time a work colleague "ripped" me a copy of OK Computer. I love those two albums. Then I heard Kid A, and could not get into that at all. Same with Hail To the Thief. This new one could be the one that gets me back on the bus. One thing I will say for this band: even when I didn't like what they were doing, they never stood still.

I bought The Bends, OK Computer & Kid A when they were on special at JB because my mate Tem recommended them to me...
about the only duds he ever recommended to me (and Portishead also)... hate the band with a passion, almost as overrated as Muse IMO. cant remember if I still have them or I gave them away, we've just moved house (well, about a month and a half ago), my cds are still packed, I guess i'll know if I have them when I unpack my "R" box (i'll be surprised if I still have them though).

^^ I'm guessing that nor are you a fan of Talking Heads, Motorhead, Machinehead or The Lemonheads either. You're just not a "head" person. It's a wonder you get along so well with MusicHead.
