^My favourite is "The Dark and the Rolling Sea", I think! He's made so many excellent songs.
I've been listening to Steve Rothery's
The Ghosts of Pripyat, followed by Pink Floyd's "Marooned" -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7YMI39sObY. Someone I know has been visiting Chernobyl and Pripyat, in the course of her work and it's oddly fascinating. Still radioactive as hell in places and seemingly referred to now as an 'accident' as opposed to 'disaster'. Must've been terrifying - 49,500 people evacuated out of Pripyat over the course of two days. The fallout will last forever.

I have never heard 'The Dark and Rolling Sea' - busy listening on YT at the moment. Magnificent stuff. Brilliant lyricist. So far ahead of the current batch of crap we are subjected to. This morning it's one of Elton's finest pieces -

Next is this one -

And then this -

And finally the instrumental -

And Leon and Elton together - fantastic -

MUSE "absolution" cd, 2003:
UK (sometimes, occasional) Prog Rock band...
third album of eight, I own two, the other "black holes...."
dislike the Black Holes one but really like this one...
not really a fan of the band as I find them to be too pretentious and
self absorbed for my liking, but this album rocks...
nothing bad on here, a couple I love and pleasant to listen to it again after almost a decade...
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
favourite track:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

What may now be a defunct band from the Netherlands - Odyssice. They seem to have had personnel issues. Can't remember how I stumbled over them but I ended up listening to an album named Impression - symphonic prog and all instrumental. I quite liked it - they're not overblown (most of the time) or too clever and the guitar is sensitive as opposed to flashy. They're Camel admirers which is apparent - Bastiaan Peters (guitar and guitar synth) doing his best to emulate Andrew Latimer, which I doubt is possible, but it's not a bad effort IMHO. Will give Silence a try next.

^I thought so too. Thanks.
Might be a little tricky getting hold of a CD!

Busy listening to Camel's revised recording of 'The Snow Goose'. Has it's moments but I prefer the original. This new version does not have that same atmospheric quality that the original captured so well. Some parts are slightly better but overall the original album wins hands down.

^That's good to know.
A bit of
Transcendence for breakfast - Shawn Phillips.
Michael Kamen was responsible for arrangements on this album and played on two tracks as well as writing one of them. I missed what would have been his birthday yesterday - can't believe how prolific he was - his entire existence must've been centered around music. Gone far too soon! Anyway - this is a lovely album IMHO - that voice ...

"Motes of Dust" -

and "Ease Your Mind" - written, arranged, and with piano by Michael Kamen ...
