Spotify listen:
their twelfth, first since 2006.
only Pete and Roger left now.
Rogers voice has held up better than I expected it would
songs are bluesy and rootsy
lyrically, for the most part, theyre looking back over past glories and why not?
they've paid their dues a thousand times over.
not a bad album
its always good to hear the old stalwarts still rocking and rolling.
singles to date:
"ball and chain"

enters the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart at #2
courtesy of Spotify
of course it was a pleasant change from my normal crap
still I was hoping for better
not much of a kick but that goes with age
also I'm no recording geek
but the mix seems off here
I can't describe what I mean
but Jerome could

I thought the off mix was Spotify at this end, obviously I was wrong

Just listened to the album. Daltrey's doing ok! Surprised by his voice which isn't sounding bad at all. That said, I don't think there's anything that really stands out - I liked the last three tracks best. Another surprise was seeing Gordon Giltrap in the personnel listing - he gets around!
Also a Spotify listen which is not the greatest - compressed sound - despite that though, I do still think it's a bit muddy.
My three - "Rockin' in Rage" -

... "Break the News" (written by Pete's little brother Simon) ...
