ALANIS MORISSETTE "jagged little pill" cd, 1995
one of my road trip spins.
i didnt think this was a suitable road trip album, justt didnt do what i thought it would on the road.
regardless, classic album, everyone should own this one IMO.
tells stories of falling in and out of love, being/feeling used, all from a female perspective.
obviously hit a nerve/connection with people because it ended up selling in excess of 33 million copies worldwide.
love everything on this album, would most certainly be one of my 'desert island discs',
as a footnote, she releases her new album towards the end of this week, looking forward to hearing it.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS "greatest hits" cd, 2003
road trip album.
perfect album for a long drive IMO.
some funk. some rock, alt-funk tunes.
sixteen tracks, not a big fan of their albums but a big fan of their singles.
my version includes a second disc, a dvd featuring the videos to the songs on offer,
a great added bonus, am a fan of their videos.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
i dont really have a favourite track by this band but the one i linked just came to mind first:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

ICEHOUSE "masterfile" cd, 1992
Aussie alt rock/new wave band.
compilation.
initially drew comparisons to Bowie when they first came out.
originally called Flowers but had to change their name as there was another band somewhere called that
so they changed it to Icehouse, the title of their debut album.
good solid collection of singles here.
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
one of their early singles when they were called Flowers:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

B-52'S "time capsule-songs for a future generation" cd, 1998
a compilation...
these guys were really 'out there' back around 1980 and listening to them today
they are still 'out there' with their early material.
there is nothing else out there that sounds like theur early material, totally unique.
Lennon once described them as 'the closest thing to Yoko's works' and along with
Macca's Coming Up as the reason he decided to come out of retirement as the music
ade him embrace the industry again.
either way, love half a dozen tracks on here, liking the majority of the rest with only a couple
of track i didnt like
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
i still have no idea what planet these guys come from, maybe it is Planet Claire?
sorry, have to post their signature tune also

BILLIE EILISH "when we all fall asleep, where do we go?" cd, 2019
a re-visit to one of last years releases..
her debut...
sort of Lorde on steroids LOL.
love for this one is still there
some 4.5 million sales worldwide now
3x Grammy's including album of the year and a bucket load of other awards across the world for it.
this is her album, no doubt nothing else she releases will come close to this...

FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD "welcome to the pleasuredome", cassette/cd 1984.
their debut of two...
so much more to these guys than the hits "relax" and "two tribes"...
funk, jazz, R+B, pop, dance, rock/punk, sound snippets and vocal impersonations..
so Alternative fits it all here...
cant praise this album highly enough, would almost certainly be in my top 5 releases of the 1980s for sure.
if you havent heard the entire album give it a listen, you may be pleasantly surprised (or not LOL)...
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
best track, the 13 minute title track:
the 8 minute video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzOGLKTmeuY video
full length album track: (if you listen to it dont give up on it, wait for it to build up)

BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS "one love: the very best of..." cd, 2001
another from the cds given to me by a now ex work colleague.
to be honest ive never really been a huge fan of reggae, its a limited/restricted style that is what is regardless of who the artist is,
you know the old saying, "heard one, heard them all", well thats reggae (and the blues/blues rock for that matter) IMO.
i also have to be totally in the mood to listen to reggae also.
luckily on this occasion i was 'in the rasta mood'...
twenty tracks but for some reason i prefer the 1984 compilation "legend" which only had fourteen tracks on it.
either way, time to pass the duchie and light the ganja cos im having a dreadlock holiday LOL.

HUNTERS & COLLECTORS "natural selection" cd, 2003
i have the deluxe version with a second disk called "unnatural selection" which is a disk of rarities/b-sides.
im a fan of this alt-rock band with their edgy sound.
all their biggest Aussie hits are here.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
cant go past this one:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight

B-52'S "cosmic thing" cd, 1989.
their fifth, my second from memory.
bought purely on the strength of their "roam" single.
shoulda known it would be crap after hearing Love Shack though...
sounds very immature like a group of teenages wrote it.
very little on here for me.
