This version of Astor Piazzolla's "Oblivion". Heard it on the radio the other day - absolutely stunning. There are many interpretations and arrangements, some orchestral with violin, some with other instruments. Brilliantly executed as the others may be, this one takes it, for me. Beautiful playing by Lelie Cristea ... her phrasing is wonderful - so emotive - rich and warm.

first thing i thought of when listening to your track was Leaves' Eyes, cool symphonic rock band from Germany.
had never heard of Epica but an old member on this forum, SteveO, mentioned them a few times,
he hasnt been here for a while and he is due a return visit.

Why can't I see the last posts beginning with mine last night? Crazy Horse I have tried every way that I can think of to get to your reply to my post but just can't see it. This and your reply in Currently Watching, although I could see and respond to Music Head's reply in the Hello thread.

I even tried different browers (was using Opera until now) but a different browser doesn't show those two items either. This is so strange, have never had this happen before. I will see what happens in this thread after I post this comment.....but anyone has a clue about this lil problem of mine please enlighten me?

PS, I have tried clearing cache and all of the usual browser tricks but none of that was any help at all, and of course as I said I'm even using a completely different browser now.

Still can't see the new posts (after #3,640) but continuing onward to see what may happen....

CH I found this by Leaves' Eyes and can see exactly why you thought of it. And I should have guessed that the vocalist Elina Siirala is Finnish, as is Tarja Turunen formerly of Nightwish and Floor Jansen, Tarja's 'replacement' so to speak (though much later after Tarja left I think). Tarja had classical voice training and I of course I will guess that Elina has as well because she sounds the most operatic of all of the opera metal female vocalists that I've ever heard.

I suppose that since Leaves' Eyes are partly German in origin they sound a little bit more Rockish than the Scandinavian bands?.....
