Decades Best rapper/rappers?

Basically, I never really liked rap. But one day I discovered Cypress Hill, and ended up buying all their albums. And now I'm looking forward their new album, coming 2009!

So for me Cypress Hill is the best rap band ever!!

And some songs by Eminem grabbed my attention, some really good compositions.

Personally I like Immortal Technique and Atmosphere the most.

I really like Eminem and 2Pac. They've written songs that are just phenomenal in my opinion, especially 2Pac. I think Eminem is a great rapper and 2Pac is more of an artist. 2Pac wrote about injustice and life in the ghetto and Eminem writes crazy songs and very emotional songs that other people can relate to.

I think that to really enjoy either of these artists you have to listen carefully to the songs and in some way relate to them. I can relate very much to Eminem although I think 2Pac wrote better songs which makes them equally good for me.

Yeah, unless you really believe in that 2Pac-is-still-alive-bullshit, you're pretty much missing the point; it's about "Decades Best rapper/rapers?" and I assume (actually I'm quite sure) that this thread is about the 00s - of this millenium, just in order to guard against misunderstandings.

As to the question of the best rapper/rappers I'd say The Roots, Aesop Rock, Why?, cLOUDDEAD, Nujabes. Yes, these aren't the usual gangsta rap suspects.
