Snap - was going to say that - except strictly speaking it's a cover - they probably got more airplay than anyone else. R.I.P. Manny Charlton.

William Hart (vocals for 60s-70s R+B/soul trio Delfonics)
aged: 77
cause: complications during surgery

i always loved their sweet harmonies and falsetto vocals which were not dissimilar to those of The Chi-Lites
they had plenty of hits on the R+B charts in america but not many crossover hits.
my favourite of theirs (and probably their best known single)

Archie Roach
aged - 66
cause: 'a long undisclosed illness'
article: Archie Roach, Aboriginal musician, songwriter and artist, dead at 66 after 'a remarkable life' (msn.com)
Wiki: Archie Roach - Wikipedia
an Australian Aboriginal singer/songwriter
his songs were about his culture, his land, his and his peoples' struggles.
but most importantly they were songs of peace, hope, forgiveness, strength and humanity.
a fantastic artist whose sales figures didnt match those of his popularity here in Australia.
as a tribute, his debut single, the song about the forced removal of indigenous children here by 'the church'.

JUDITH DURHAM vocals for The Seekers

one of the most enduring and endearing voices of the last 60 years.
'stately' and professional until the end.
a class act.
the original line-up from their "farewell tour" in 2013,
her voice was still perfect and a fitting tribute....

just woke up to the sad news of Olivia's passing,
whilst not really a fan she was an icon here in Australia, and the second Aussie musical icon to die in the last two days.
my favourite of hers:

i wasnt a big fan but for a decade she was almost untouchable with the early '70s country thing, the "grease" period in the late 70s and then the early/mid 80s "physical/xanadu" era...
