Anthony 'Tony' Clarkin - mastermind, chief songwriter and guitarist for English rock band Magnum. He was 77 and had been diagnosed with a rare spinal condition shortly prior to his passing on the 7th of Jan. The band cancelled their tour to promote their new album which was released on the 12th and on which he was instrumental - pardon the pun! Listening to it now. A rocker to the end, he also had a great affinity with animals and his family will set up a charitable trust to aid this cause - good man. R.I.P. Tony Clarkin.

I am not ready to let go of Toby Keith. This is me and my mom with him at the CMA Music Festival on June 13, 2000. This was just two months after his song named "How Do You Like Me Now?" finished its five-week stay at #1. My mom and me were at the event because it was her high school graduation gift to me. Toby couldn't have been more of a gentleman to us.
God bless you and his family and my mom always!!!

P.S. Cancer can kiss my country music keister.
Listen to my most favorite singer here sometime, James Otto that is!
R.I.P. Steve Harley - seems to have been a fairly charismatic individual. Didn't really know his stuff, other than the well known songs, but am aware that he was the original Phantom of the Opera, at least on the single that was made and released to promote the theatre show - ultimately ditched in favour of Michael Crawford who had more acting experience https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2zxzaWgVRA. Not that I'm a phantom fan (or an ALW fan, for that matter) - was just interesting to know! Roger Waters is definitely not a fan of that song either which he makes very clear ... He said, in reference to a sequence in "Echoes" - "It's the same time signature – it's 12/8 – and it's the same structure and it's the same notes and it's the same everything. It probably is actionable. It really is! But I think that life's too long to bother with suing Andrew f-ing Lloyd Webber."
Anyway, Steve Harley also took the lead vocal on this ...
