MARK KNOPFLER and EMMYLOUS HARRIS - All the Roadrunning

I do like this album, and the quality is not in question, nor is the synergy, but am not entirely sold on all the tracks - I've been listening to it in the car this week - random grab off the shelf! Coupla favourites ...

I see that Ian Eames has created a video for the whole of 'The Endless River'. He did the original animation for Floyd's track 'Time' from DSOTM - the flying clocks thingy. You can find it on YT but I have to say it did absolutely nothing for me at all - I cannot fathom what he was trying to do.

MIKE OLDFIELD - Hergest Ridge
It's like sorbet for the ears. A palate cleanser. Just what was needed for today! Not posting a link - you need to listen to the whole thing, IMHO.

JETHRO TULL "minstrel in the gallery" cd 1975
a revisit
their eighth studio album
first time in three or four yours i have pulled this one out
typical acoustic Tull with rock guitars thrown in he mix and obviously the trademark flute
supposedly written about Anderson's then finalised divorce which he denies but during an interview back in the day he said "album contains elements that are of a personal and fantasy nature", like Dylan it seems difficult to pin him down at times
either way, album was just as good as the last time i played it
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
so make a cup of tea/coffee, relax and settle in for 16 of the best minutes of your day:

WHAT A PERFORMANCE!!!
This is Robert Plant, Janis Joplin and God knows who else all rolled into one. Mind-boggling control of her voice on this track.

funny you mentioned Plant because Beth Hart released an album of Zeppelin covers a couple of years ago

I have spent the whole morning going thought her catalogue. She just blew me away. Read her WIKI profile as well - she had some rough times but the girl done good! An incredible voice. An incredible presence. An incredible experience. Totally unique. No-one else like her. 11/10...

FREDDIE MERCURY "mr. bad guy (special edition)" vinyl 2019
Lynne is a huge Queen fan, and i mean mega-fan...
i own the original of this album on vinyl (as obviously does she)
however i played the 2019 remastered mix of the 1985 album
the new mix sounds so much better than the original version IMO
the music is equalised so much better and Freddie's voice is so much clearer and higher in the mix
sounds like a totally different album to me (even played my original to make sure i wasnt hearing things that werent there)
now im not a huge Queen fan but i do like them but this album rates better than most Queen albums IMO, well better than the original mixes anyway,
I LOVE THIS (version of the) ALBUM

^I have that vinyl - I wasn't crazy about it. Maybe I should listen to the remastered version!
Been trawling around Rory Gallagher's catalogue lately. He was so good. These two tracks have been staying with me, so here they are ...
And this, which is a traditional folk song done Rory's way ... I love it ...
