STURGILL SIMPSON "sound and fury" cd/vinyl 2019
a revisit
his fourth studio album
songs featured in an anime dystopian movie on Netflix (ive never seen it though)
no country on here,
nothing that even resembles country this is rock, psychedelic rock and hard rock
still melodic though as one should expect from Sturgill
loved the album on its last posting and love it still, probably rate around 2.4 on this occasion
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
fave on this occasion:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

DAVID BOWIE "the next day" cd, 2013
a revisit
what a terrible album cover, i still dont understand the purpose of it?!
anyway,
his first release in over a decade
songs are about growing old gracefully, facing mortality and accepting age as a part of life
used to dislike this when i first purchased it
took a good couple of years to appreciate it, now...
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
fave:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

what a great album
Lynne isnt a big fan of Uncle Neil
in fact she says "he is half an octave away from Kermit The Frog" LMAO
i guess we can agree to disagree over him
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
sometimes you just cant go past the obvious choice...

ROGER DALTREY "as long as i have you" cd 2018
a revisit
his tenth solo album
three or four self penned tracks, the rest are covers
almost r+b/soul vibes in places with the horn sections
his voice is pretty good for his age but does sound a bit frail in a couple of places
some interesting covers on here, who'd have thought he would cover Nick Cave?
nothing really outstanding on here but also at the same time, nothing to dislike which means...
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
title track live:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

'Kashmir' is Led Zep at their very best.

i own a compilation and a couple of singles and thats it
was good to actually listen to a full album
not a bad album for a first up listen
nothing bad on it, just consistently much of the same throughout
