THE SHERLOCKS "everything must make sense"
from the UK
their fifth studio album, only thing ive heard
album has a bit of an Arctic Monkeys/Oasis/Supergrass thing happening
all three of those are artists i like
theres nothing great on the album, just a consistent album overall
only one track i do not like and that is because it contains a monotonous repetitive instrumental piece in the middle
two best tracks are linked below

1: everything must make sense **
2: man on the loose **

^^
and the big surpise of the year is that i refused to buy Paul Weller's album over his support of Palestine as did many fans...
you alienate your fanbase and i guess thats what happens...

DAMIANO DAVID "funny little fears"
form Italy
frontman of Italian rock band Maneskin which won Eurovsion in 2021
dude has gone solo now, this is his debut solo set
pop/rock here
sounds a little like Nate Ruess (Fun.) and Vance Joy in places
songs are quite catchy for the most part
a couple of dud tracks on the album but the really good ones off set those blemishes

THE TERRYS "the terrys"
from Australia
indi-pop/rock/folk band
third studio album
can hear slight Arctic Monkeys in places, Noel Gallagher style guitar in others
a good mix of tempos on the album
also a pet hate on here....a bloody "hidden track" FFS.
i dont see the point of them in this day and age,
other than that slight blemish which actually isnt a blemish because its not bad as a track this is a decent album

SURPRISE CHEF "superb"
Aussie band
fourth studio album,
a first for me
album is fully instrumental
its jazz, soul/r+b, hip-hop fusion stuff
each track finds its own groove/vibe and sticks to it without variation
songs sound similar to the music on "play" by Moby
sounds best listening to it in one sitting as opposed to individual tracks IMO.

DOPE LEMON "golden wolf"
Aussie artist
thirteenth career album, i own ten
fifth as Dope Lemon
a very light/breezy summery album
lovely dreamy vocals
so many styles here, hints of soul/jazz/pop/world music/electronica
yet somehow it all manages to work as always
probably the most accessible Dope Lemon album IMO
