STURGILL SIMPSON "sound and fury" cd 2019
his fourth of nine, i own them all
this one is different though, its a rock album,
its blues, its boogie, its psychedelic and synth rock
and it has grown on me and keeps on growing with each listen
this used to be my least liked Sturgill album but now its mid range
album scores 2.2 from me which means

eleventh studio album
my second random Queen pick for the day
love two of the nine tracks on this one and like one other
well at least its an improvement over "hot space"
but only because it features guitars and feels partially like a Queen album
and not some gay nightclub synthed up dance album

seven i dislike, one i like (perfect day)
three i love ('vicious', 'walk on the wild side' and 'new york telephone conversation')
i just never understood the fascination or love fans and critics give this album
(or most of his catalogue for that matter)

his third of twelve, i own them all
just dont think 'bat out of hell' and you'll get through it LOL
theres no Steinman penned songs just bog standard rock and roll
only bad thing on here is a cover of Chuck's "the promised land"
everything else stands the test of time for what it is

his fourth, the follow up to yesterday's play
1980s rock here,
a duet with Daltry on the title track
and two Steinman penned songs (meat is best when he sings Steinman)
nothing bad on here and one i love

not really a fan of live albums as they often detract from the atmosphere of the live shows
and this is no different
whilst Meat is in fine form vocally its not as polished as a studio album and it suffers for that IMO
impossible to score a live album but overall

hadnt heard this in a few years so i really enjoyed this
slightly punk, slightly 50s rock n roll
so basically Little Richard meets The Clash, strange mix but it works
