31/32? contestants on to Hollywood
These tryout shows actually cover 2 days of tryouts. After the day 1 segment he said 15 contestants go on to Hollywood. After day 2 segment he said 17 contestants on to Hollywood. Then he said a total of 31 contestants go on to Hollywood. Oh well, this is Ryan Seacrest we're talking about.

I have been watching this series - exciting it's not - however I iron whilst watching and so it is bearable in comparison.

I watch it early Sunday afternoon when we get 2 episodes - I watched the Dallas ones today.

Clean up day I suppose.
Leftover clips from the previous 7 days auditions.
This was the end of the tryouts, thank God.
Total of 181 contestants on to Hollywood where it will be trimmed down to 12 male and 12 female participants. Gotta be fair ya know. Wouldn't want to take just the 24 best singers.
btw, just remember the name Hope.

Round 1 of the Hollywood 181 and pretty boring since you really only got to see about 10 people sing at the most. Each about 30 seconds. So a one hour show for about 5 minutes of relevancy. I assume the same thing tomorrow.
Not sure how this even works. They bring out 8 contestants and show you maybe 2 of them singing. Then they move 4 on to the next round and drop 4. So I guess they end up cutting the competitors by half. Hope we don't end up with half a person.

Forgot to post after that last one. That's how forgettable it was.
The worst show yet. Group efforts. They put 4 or 5 contestants together to perform. Not sure how the groupings were arrived at. Then the judges would advance some or all of the group and kick some out. Pretty bad stuff but thank God for recording devices.

What a drama fest.
Down to 71 going in. They were split up into 3 rooms. Majority of the 2 hour show was spent examining their emotions over the experience. Of course the ones with most devastating life experiences were the focus. Anyway they dropped one of the rooms which included my early pick of Hope somebody, So that left them with 46 of which 7 of the final 24 were revealed. That means 17 left to pick for final Hollywood round tonight in a 1 hour show. That oughta go pretty quick.
The 7 picked so far are:
Didi Benami
Casey James
Aaron Kelly
Lee Dewyse
Todrick Hall
Michael Lynche
Katelyn Epperly
Out of those 7 I'm going with Didi and Casey. Didi will have to get over being that emotional wreck she appears to be.

Just wish they'd get on with it - there's still too many of them to tell apart - but I did notice a really pretty girl who I'd like to get through on the strength of her black nail polish alone
(I will start listening to the singing when they start the live shows)
