Been years since I've spun this. Thought I liked it, but I guess not. Does that mean my taste has changed? I do still love that first track. This si their third album and maybe it was that next one I really liked. I'll find out when I get to it. I guess it's those damn distorted vocals again. Maybe I was ready for something new when this came out. And now they've carried this extreme metal to such a limit that it has poisoned me to the earlier stuff too.

Georgia band formed in 1996, with their 8th album. Comprised of frontman Lajon Witherspoon, John Connolly (guitar), Clint Lowery (guitar), Vince Hornsby (bass), and Morgan Rose (drums). Lowery left the band in 2003 but has returned for this one. On their own label, they picked up producer Johnny K for this effort, who has worked with Disturbed, Staind and 3 Doors Down. Sounds like Mudvayne to me. Not my bag but it may be yours.

Brit arena rockers hit their stride with this 6th album, at least in my book. One of their better efforts, with 2 standout tracks out of the meager 8 selections. The only dud is the only cover, a Love (the group) song. Formed in 1969 with Phil Mogg (vocals), Mike Bolton (guitar), Pete Way (bass) and Andy Parker (drums) as Hocus Pocus. Bolton left in 1972, replaced by Michael Schenker (Scorpions). In 1976 keyboardist Paul Raymond was added, in time for this album. Schenkers alcohol abuse led to his departure after the next album. This one reached #23 on the U.S. charts.

Welsh band formed in 2003 with their third album, the first coming in 2005, followed by a tour with Rob Zombie. Already catching myself calling them My Bloody Valentine. Go Figure. The band consists of Matt Tuck (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Michael Paget (lead guitar), Jason James (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Michael Thomas (drums). They pick up Linkin Pard producer Don Gilmore for this one. Singles of Your Betrayal and The Last Flight are already out. Three good tracks for me, which is not bad for a metal album, but still falls short of the buy mark.

Texas band formed in 1996 out with their fourth album. Ryan McCombs returns as lead vocalist, after 3 different people in that position on the first 3 albums. While the first album experienced unanticipated success, follow ups have been let downs. The bands music, along with many others, is noted for being used by the U.S. military to inflict torture on captured prisoners. lmao. It wasn't that bad. Really like the lead off track, with a few others being good. Then again there were more bad than good tracks. Feel Like I Do is the first single.

Florida metal band formed in 1997 with drummer Robb Rivera, vocalist Elias Soriano, guitarist Andrew Goldman and bassist Kenneth "KB" Mcmillan. Goldman left the band in 2008, replaced by Zach Broderick. They have been a regular at the Ozzfest festival and will be touring with Mudvayne this summer. They have toured with Sevendust, Linkin Park and Staind. This is their sixth studio album, and is prodiced by Mudvaynes Chad Gray and Greg Tribbett. Gray is also featured on the first single, which is the title track, that I didn't care for at all. The album was not too good for me as with most of the genre, but Throwing Stones was pretty good. Just cause I don't like it, don't mean you metalheads won't. This is an album that has one of those stupid hidden tracks at the end. I would have included it, but since it's hidden, I'm not supposed to know it's there.

Pennsylvania band formed in 2006 with their second album (first on Tooth and Nail). Billed as christian rock consisting of Sarah Anthony (lead vocals), her husband Mark Anthony (backing vocals, guitar), Mat Slagle (drums), and Matt Beal (bass). Matched up with producer Toby Wright of Korn, Alice In Chains fame. I didn't get the christian message, but I guess it was buried in there somewhere. Not sure how these bands pick up these labels. Maybe they went to church once. Aha, they're christians. The title track is the first single.
