i think some of Lennon's best songs were on Double Fantasy.

as with Elvis, i think he was at his best in the 1970s(vocally), although he was not selling as much as the 1950s

I could even handle most of the yoko stuff on Double Fantasy.

that was spooky, the fact that is wasn't bad

actually i didnt mind some of it either, the album could have done with probably only three or four of her tracks and a couple more of John's IMO.

i generally found that Lennon's stuff was much of a muchness on each album and Yoko actually just broke it up a bit, that said, "imagine" is a work of art as an album.

i think that during the double fantasy sessions both their minds were set free and they didnt have as much worry in their life's as they did in the years before. and i can listen to the yoko stuff but i have to admit "kiss kiss kiss" is one of the worst songs ever.

John Lennon's horrific death shattered me personally !!! I still to this day can't really believe it ! With the realisation of John's death , the glimmer of hope for a Beatle reunion was shattered forever !!!!

i feel the same. i didnt really feel that way up untill a certain point as i was born 14 years after he died but when i watched john Lennon vs the usa at the end there is the sound of four gunshots and you see Lennon's face slowly fades. and it was the first time the realisation hit me and i felt like someone close had gone i really love his music. And sure he had his faults but that's what makes him so human like joe strummer. even though he was super rich and is super famous you can still relate to him on a personal level and i think that's why so many people connect with him on such deep levels even people born after his death. poor john he never did deserve what he got in the end.

I think John's most emotionally communicative work was on John Lennon and The Plastic Ono Band..................It's hard to think of anyone who has every been able to be that intimate in showing his damaged soul and humble self after being raised to God like status..............Talking of that sentiment; it is also inspiring to see that John could take the God like status: come to an intellectual acceptance of it, see the need to dismantle it and do so musically without tarnishing his reputation or integrity.......................Couple those together and I think that we lost one of the most remarkable people artists that has every lived when he was shot ....................Cool
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!

It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown.

that's true Lennon was never afraid to open his mind up for all to see.

as much as i love the Beatles, im glad no reunion was/is possible...too many bands have reformed, but not many have lived up to the hype expected of them...or maybe the media hyped them up so much they could not live up to it!!
