Former convent girl & Jagger's ex released this in '79, after her voice had evidently self-destructed. Despite this,
Broken English is a fab album.
There's a brooding quality to the songs, most of which MF co-wrote, although there are cracking covers of both
The Ballad of Lucy Jordan, &
Working Class Hero.

Have this somewhere in the house but prefer 'A Child's Adventure'

Not critically well regarded, but I think this is superb.
Recorded in '74 on the Diamond Dogs tour, this finds Bowie on the transitional cusp between Glam idol, and Soul man.
Lots of early Bowie classics get the treatment, and this reminded me track after track just what a genius songwriter he was...

Brit artist who has been criminally neglected in my view. Unfortunately she seems to have chased various styles in her pursuit of a breakthrough, which means there isn't an Annabel Lamb sound as such.
This is a mid '80s Pop-Rock album, and her voice and songwriting is strong throughout. Sounds a little like a female David Bowie on some of the more uptempo songs.
Her catalog seems to have been largely deleted, which is an outrage...

The latest album from Creed. First one since 2001! Remember those awesome songs like My Sacrifice and Higher?
Such a good band! I'm happy they're back and on tour again!

A little retro action here with this London based bands debut. Think they had an ep before but not much info on them. First time hearing them for me. Rock a billy, boogie rock, whatever you choose to call it. Everybody from Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and Stray Cats get ripped off here, or name your own similar band. Surprisingly I hear some Aerosmith. Nothing in the way of original, but some nice flashbacks. Ended up saying I could like a couple, but probably not for long. Looks like a good live band from these clips.

Sixth album from one of my favorite solo artists. I think Neil was discovering his African roots here, with some interesting rhythms and even some Swaheeli thrown in. Side 2 anyway. Side 1 seems to be typical pop stuff. Good pop stuff. All Neil originals except for the classic He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother. The Hollies will always have the defining version of that song for me, but Neil still gets 2 stars. The album reached #13 on the U.S. charts with 4 singles leading the way and Cracklin Rosie topping the chart.

Country Blues-drenched mellow Rock from Mr Cale.
This album features a host of guest musicians, and to these ears they smother Cale's usually simple arrangements.
Still a good album.

That's 'Swahili' Mr Music Head! And I have to agree he was a great performer. Still think the intro to 'Hot August Night' is one of the best openers to a live concert ever.
