Short-lived UK band with their debut from the late '80s.

Soulful Pop-Rock with a touch of Gospel about it. Rachel Morrison's voice bears comparison with Alison Moyet or Annie Lennox.

The band apparently had considerable success around the world except in the UK or US.

Good but nothing special.

never heard of it tiggi but if she has a voice as good as you say i'll have to check it out, alison moyet and annie lennox have/had great voices, i liked helen terry as well, also liked a new zealand duo called 'vicki and linda' and an aussie chick called 'kate cebrano'.

did you, guys hear of 'bic runga' in the uk? her debut album 'drive' was great easy listening stuff, neil finn discovered her, saw her live as support act for mr.finn back in the 90s

Follow up to the live album that put the boys at the top of their game. Over produced at times imo, it would still be a worthy successor, and probably put them at the height of the career. A couple of great tracks. Have to go with the title track as my favorite, only because of the length of Gonna Raise Hell making it rather tedious. Still another great song. The album made it to #6 in the states, with the singles of Dream Police at #26 and Voices at #32.

Not my cover or track listing but their are 16 of them, which is a healthy dose and covers all the hits. This cover is of the MCA reissue of the original Dunhill release. Although they weren't around that long, they certainly made an impact with their folk/rock California sound. With only 5 studio albums to their credit, they made them count, as the singles were consistent hits. Hard to pick a favorite from this set, with 8 tracks fitting the bill, but I ended up on Creeque Alley as it tells the story of the formation of the band. Didn't care much for the covers, but even those, you have to appreciate the harmonys. Many compilations have been released and this one was the first I think.

thanks for the video of 'california dreamin', love this group, cheerful, happy songs. listening to these songs i sometimes wish i was born earlier than 1967, i think i could easily have been a hippie/folky type of person, i can only imagine what it was like back in the day.
