the biggest music death

i know sad topic. but me and my dad were talking about this the other day. what do you think is the most famous death in music history. im going with either Lennon being murdered or the infamous day the music died plane carsh in 59. elvis is a ovbious one aswell.

here! here! Jerome, Buddy Holly was possibly the greatest loss to rock & roll....i think the Big Bopper had an interesting career about to take off also, not so sure about Richie Valens though...probably just a flash in the pan career, still it is sad when anyone dies... 3x RIP.

I know this won't be a popular view, but Kurt Cobain should rank in there somewhere. Elvis & Lennon were way past their prime when they died, whereas the tragedy of Cobain's suicide as a result of phenomenal success is highly poignant.

It's a bit of a parallel with Buddy Holly's early demise in terms of checking out at the peak of your popularity...

im not a huge elvis fan. but im a huge Lennon fan and i dont think he was past his prime i just think yoko was getting to many songs on the albums. but what makes it such a famous/infamous death is that he was in the beatles and released some pretty huge selling albums and on top of all that he was murdered wich makes it so infamous.
