What Are You Listening To?
from my library (vinyl)

Nice debut from a great band for me. Always thought McCulloch was a dead on Morrison. I went for it. I loved Jim. This album was not great for me, but it opened the potential box for what these guys could do. Didn't even know they were still out there, but it shows a release in 2009, that flew over my head. Surely that can is empty by now. This album did not even chart is the states. Bloody Americans! Not on the U.K. charts either. Bloody Brits! Rescue is the only great track here for me, but there were three throwaways, dragging that grade down.

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - Happy Death Men

Best Track - Rescue

If I said I'd lost my way
Would you sympathise
Could you sympathise?
I'm jumbled up
Maybe I'm losing my touch
I'm jumbled up
Maybe I'm losing my touch
But you know I didn't have it anyway

Won't you come on down to my
Won't you come on down to my rescue

Things are wrong
Things are going wrong
Can you tell that in a song
I don't know what I want anymore
First I want a kiss and then I want it all

Won't you come on down to my
Won't you come on down to my rescue
Rescue, rescue, rescue

Things are wrong
Things are going wrong
Can you tell that in a song
Losing sense of those harder things
Is this the blues I'm singing?
Is this the blues I'm singing?
Is this the blues I'm singing?
Is this the blues I'm singing?

Won't you come on down to my
Won't you come on down to my rescue
Is this the blues I'm singing
Won't you come on down to my rescue

Won't you come on down to my
Won't you come on down to my
Won't you come on down to my
Won't you come on down to my
(Is this the blues I'm singing?)
Won't you come on down to my
(Rescue)
Won't you come on down to my
(Is this the blues I'm singing?)
(Rescue)
Won't you come on down to my
(Is this the blues I'm singing?)
(Rescue)
Won't you come on down to my
(Is this the blues I'm singing?)
(Rescue)
Won't you come on down to my
(Is this the, I'm singing)
Won't you come on down to my
(Is this the, I'm singing)

thanks for posting this, i think i like Echo and Co. better now than i did in the 80s, 'the cutter' was my favourite single of theirs back then
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..."  -  Me 2014.

Most of their more recent releases are great IMV. Mellower than they used to be, but the playing & the song-writing's top notch.

Live acoustic album from Goth-Folk rockers recorded in 2000.

Took me a while to get into this band. Didn't like their early albums as I thought they were a little lyrically whimsical. Saw them live for the first time supporting The Cure at Crystal Palace in 1991, and they blew me away. I now think their debut is a 24 carat classic.

I have mixed views on these unplugged efforts. It's admirable that artists are prepared to play with minimal instrumentation without hiding behind volume, and pared down performances can provide an intimacy that's well worth the experience. There's also a different perspective to be had when songs are stripped down.

On the other hand, songs that were previously glorious technicolour extravaganzas can sound a bit flat and one-dimensional.

This one's pretty good, and proves what a fine voice Julianne Regan has.

Volume 2 tomorrow...

Volume 2.

Same as the above but with different songs . Slightly prefer volume 1 as the songs are stronger.
