Who writes better songs? Freestylers? or Just Writers?
Blue corner Says Freestyling is useless skill that would "jus be a cool aspect of ur game"!! Red Corner Says a good Writer is a essentially a good Freestyler its just making the connection from brain to mouth!
What do you all think!?

This can apply to any form of music. Spontaneity versus craft.
I think both are valid, but I tend to prefer something which is carefully put together.

That's not saying that a Freestyler is not capable of Adding structure to his spontaneity is it?
Now considering that do you think the ability to be spontaneous should be something that one should opt out off?

Not at all. Improvisation has a long musical history, most notably in Jazz. I think for those few that are genuinely good at this sort of thing, it's perfectly legitimate.

I agree on the Jazz thing, That might the reason why I agree with the freestyling idea but,
What about in HipHop? with lyrics?
Blue Corner claims that The are very little Rappers or hiphop Artists who are capable of both, and still write good songs.

I guess the same applies with lyrics. I'm not a huge Hip Hop fan, but I have seen what appears to be some quality freestyling (wouldn't be able to say who it was...)

What little freestyling I have heard from the Hip-Hop world has no musical element that I can hear, no harmony or tune necessary. It's strictly improvisational poetry. Sometimes with backing music sometimes not. Usually pretty bad poetry but to each his own. Jazz improvisation requires great musical skill as you must blend with the other musicians in some kind of musical way.

Ive seen a Few good Freestylers. People with Musical Ability who had enough control on the words they use that they can freestyle and make it sound like a song they are doing instead of just poetry.
If I was a Freestyler, I would aspire to Freestyle Rhythmic Cadence.

I'm not a huge fan of freestyle rapping. In the moment, live, it's easy to get wrapped up in a skillful freestyler, but it rarely has much replay value for me.
When I think of my favorite rap songs, 90% of them aren't the kind of stuff that might come from a freestyle session. I'd rather hear a well thought out song, like "Sister" by Rhymefest. That's a very poignant piece that never could have have come out of a freestyle battle. The lyrics make you think and touch the heart and mind. Most freestyle raps focus on empty braggadocio, which isn't enough for me anymore.
What freestyle raps can match these songs for lyrical content?

How I Got Over- Roots
Louder Than A Bomb - Public Enemy
The list is endless. No freestyle song can match those for lasting quality. I would never say freestyling is a useless skill, but it can't match true hip-hop songcraft.
