An excellent cover

I don't often promote things on MD but in my travels I found this excellent cover version of

Magna Carta's Airport Song

It comes from a traditional Dutch event that looks at the Top 2000 singles in NL and this year they have opened it to unknown artists

That's sounds sweet Gryphon! I'm planning on raiding Amazon in a few days and really need to add some Magna Carta to my collection. Which albums would you recommend? (before I make the usual stereotypical 90s purchases) .

This is not quite as simple as I would like it to be.

The Magna back catalog is not as readily available as it should be and it is not as it should be.

Some items are excellent but the prices on Amazon are extortionate.................

For example " Martin's Cafe " is really worth having but at 24 GBP it is too expensive to get that way.

The other problem is there are times when Magna have recycled their tracks and you can end up with repeats.....................and Magna also like rerecording things so it is hard to tell the difference..................
However this is what I would recommend:

1) Lord Of The Ages .....................( The Repertoire issue is well packaged and remastered.)

or

2) Lord Of The Ages?Martin's Cafe the download. ( I have the CD and MC is really excellent and different from LOTA)

3) Seasons is excellent and if you can get it coupled with Songs from Wastie's Orchard
well worth it.

4) Midnight Blue/Live and Let Live is excellent from Angel Air and shows a completely different MC from 1 to 3

5) The Ambitions issue of Time For The Leaving is usually cheap and contains both live at Grassington albums

6) I think Where To Now is excellent as it has some rare demos not avaliable else where but it can cost.

Seriously mate, if I'm desperate for an album I quite often will pay those prices on amazon/ebay in order to obtain one. Not that long ago, I paid 60 odd quid for an extremely rare Bill Nelson (Be Bop Deluxe) 4CD boxset and t-shirt from the late 80s on ebay (the bidding was intense!) which otherwise would have cost me in excess of £100 per album.

Thanks for the recommendations and I'll check back here tomorrow when I'm buying them. Had a quick look already and a few you mentioned are around the £10 mark so will probably get those to start off with.
