Okay..so there were a lot of negative comments after seeing Meat Loaf last night - well whatever- everyone is entitled to their opinions.
Gotta say..considering he is now 64...he still floats my boat. Yes..he lacked alot of his 'old days' energy..but when he found it -he sure knew how to use it! He is still very passionate about his music, still very entertaining, still humurous!
The band was fantastic also..gotta give them credit too...and his main back up singer -she's still got it going on!
All in all...was a great night out...I enjoyed every second of it..as did the others in our group (bar one person ;-) )
Twas his very last concert in Australia..and I am so so glad I got to be a part of it!
Rock on Meatloaf...

Hi GLM, what was the audience like at Meatloaf, any young ones? Glad you enjoyed it. Not really my taste, but still a notable Musician in his own right.

the crowd was mainly made up of 40+ age group buit i guess a lot of those took their children/grand kids along also.
yes Dani was correct about the band, backing singers, and his humourous side etc.....

however i must disagree with her over the quality of his performance... i did thuink he did ok on "i would do anything for love" track and also "paradise by the dashboard light" track...but overall i dont think he had anywhere near the power of vocal range that his albums do...granted, the guy is now in his mid 60s and age would have taken a toll on his voice...as would three years on the road.

IMO Meatloaf will not be around much longer...he looked bloated(not fat but genuinely bloated), his eyes looked glazed and not with it and appeared to be genuinely "not there" if you know what i mean....sort of gave me the same impression when looking at live clips from Elvis Presley's final 1977 tour.

hopefully this is not the case, but if it happens, then at least he will have left us with two of the greatest rock albums ever in "bat out of hell" and "deadringer"....and a voice that few others will ever have the ability to have!

Thats a shame, cant stay young forever - not even Michael Jackson managed that! Dont get me wrong, MJ's one of my favs, but a bit of a weirdo..... Your right about Elvis and his last show, he looked terrible, slurred his words etc.
