Oh.
I was expecting at least a bit of a tussle there...
... and not necessarily with you, MH.

Been listening to this recent album by Whitesnake today and it turned out to be a lot better than I had imagined!

^ Yes, it is a tad cheesy but be sure to check the guitar solo at 4.00- simply amazing!

James Leg, otherwise known as John Wesley Myers of the Black Diamond Heavies, debuted his solo album Solitary Pleasure last week(April 6, 2011) with ten songs that range from rock-blues to blues-rock with a tiny bit of self-reflective soul inbetween raw punk edges. This album appeals to my varied taste in an almost soul-searching way.

KISS "destroyer" 1976,cd. #11 US, #6 AU, #22 UK.
after three good studio albums that failed to sell,a superb double live set and a couple of years of sellout shows across the US, KISS were finally rewarded on the US charts and became a worldwide hit with this album and the brilliant Peter Criss orchestrated ballad "beth", which incidently was the "b-side" to the single "detroit rock city". somewhere along the way DJ's flipped the single over, played "beth" and the KISS legend was born. "detroit rock city" is in its own right a great rock track, as is the majority of this album. many of the songs here are still performed live some 35 years later...which is a testament to the strength of the album. the album also features Gene Simmons signature tune "god of thunder", which like "detroit rock city" has been performed at every Kiss show since its release, all in all a fine rock album from a band at the top of their game.
I LOVE THIS ALBUM

Live 1973 album that captures Hawkwind in all their glory.
Cro-magnon riffage, topped by Nik Turner's squalling Sax, and swooping, swirling, & echoing keyboards is punctuated by Robert Calvert's dystopian futuristic poetry.
There are songs in here somewhere, but the attractions for me are the elongated narcotic space-jams that they used to do so well.
BTW the bass player here is one Ian Kilminster - now of Motorhead - who kept screamin' at Music Head even though he didn't do nuthin'...
Completely brilliant.
AllMusic 4+/5 stars.
